Overcoming
Imposter
Syndrome
It’s quite common for First Generation Womxn to experience Imposter syndrome.
Growing up, pressure was used to extract greatness out of us, at the expense of our well being and sense of “good-enoughness”. So we continuously strive to “be great”, and earn external rewards to feel validated.
Many times we live with people and work in environments that question our worth.
We earn multiple degrees, and silently question whether we deserve the careers and titles we hold.
We silently shrink at new career opportunities. We question if we’re deserving of the promotion.
We think that outworking this insecurity is the solution but it’s not.
Overworking leads to burnout every time.
In reality, Imposter Syndrome is a false construct.
You are a real person, who exists in all your brilliance, knowledge, career experience, and personal life wisdom. Everyday you demonstrate the abundance of skills you have.
How much time do you spend worrying if you’re good enough? How much of your well being is Imposter Syndrome costing you? Enough is enough!
Next time you experience Imposter Syndrome, I invite you to overcome it by aligning these 3 systems:
Mind. Reframe your perspective to state that you belong. This will create a new pattern of thinking in your brain.
Body. Regulate your stress system during those moments of doubt by breathing deeply and allowing your body to feel safe in your experience.
Sense of Self. Own that you’re doing the work you’re supposed to be doing.
REPEAT DAILY to override the decades of false, imprinted Imposter Syndrome thought patterns and habits.
Much Love & Encouragement!
Your Transformation Coach,
Rose
